After SafeWise released its fifth annual report, guess who was at the top of the list? Yes! Senoia is at the top of the list for 2019. They had only 39 property crimes to Sumerville’s 48. They also reported zero violent crimes in 2017.

SafeWise even added 11 new cities to Georgia’s safest this year which means that 78% of the cities from last year made it again.

The beautiful city of Senoia is known for its bustling historic downtown area and up-and-coming film industry.

It was founded in 1860. Rev. Francis Warren Baggarly bought land on which this town now sits. The first building in this city was known as the Rock House.  Many of the original residents  were settlers from Newberry, South Carolina. From the time of its inception, it grew a reputation for its agricultural production of cotton, corn and livestock.

Take a tour of the Senoia Area Historical Society’s history museum which is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the social and cultural history of this city and its surrounding community.

It is located a short walk from downtown. This museum gives its visitors a personal up close look at the traditions, history, and culture of this city.
